Today is officially my last day of winter break (because the weekend doesn't really count, does it?? I mean, we would have it off anyway....but I digress) I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed my time off, but I am also really excited to get back into my classroom. I really do love what I do, so while I am sad to be leaving my little ones, I am happy to get back to my big ones.
I thought I would cap off this last day of vacation with a Five for Friday review from
Doodlebugs.
I have been doing a whole heck of a lot of planning, trying to get ready for next week.

Looking through Notice and Note to prepare my first Signpost lesson. I actually also bought a lesson plan book! Yay me! | | |

My daughter and I like to go on "Girls' Dates" where it is just her and I spending the day together. This time, we went to Disneyland and California Adventure. On a side note, did you know they have a nursing/pumping station at both parks?? It is such a nice place to go to get away from it all and enjoy a little downtime while pumping (in my case.)
I am working on so many things right now, just to prepare for class. One area I want to tighten up is my root word instruction. I have taken all of the stuff I did in the past (you can read about it
here) and sort of combined it into a trifold. Have I mentioned how much I love trifolds right now? Anyway, I finished the first week, and you can get it
here if you want to try and use it too :)
I have been spending a lot of time with my crockpot lately. I LOVE this thing. My favorite recipe so far is the Salsa Chicken that I made. You take some chicken breasts, a jar of salsa, and a packet of taco seasoning. Place it all in the crockpot, cook on high for 5 hours, and you have a great shredded chicken for tacos, burritos, tostadas, enchiladas....you name it!
I am also loving
INSTAGRAM. Are you on it? If you are, come join me over there. I post a whole bunch of random pictures and it is just fun!
So there you have it, some random things that are going on this week in the world of Room 6.
Thanks for the freebie! I love the 'presubsol' question. What do the students do in the blank boxes (4 boxes on one page)?
ReplyDeleteI am planning on having the kids draw a picture of the root. One that is different than the clipart that I provided.
DeleteI am sssssooooooo jealous that you like close enough to Disneyland to just go!! Living in KY and being a disneynut we have a 12 hour drive. Thanks for the freebie.
ReplyDeleteHi Stephanie! I loved your post! I also love to go on "girl dates" with my daughter and also went to Disneyland a couple of years ago! I have two daughters but one was wanting to go with her friend at the time and lost out going with us and then her friend didn't go! It was a big deal too because we live in BC. I wish you a great first week back!

ReplyDeleteI love my crockpot, especially in the winter! I have heard many people talk about Notice and Note. It will likely be on my next Amazon order.
